Sinful Saints and Saintly Sinners at the Margins of the Americas

Mythic characters like New Orleans’ “Voodoo Queen,” Marie Laveau, or the “Mexican Robin Hood,” Jesús Malverde, hover somewhere between sinner and saint.
Maybe there’s a parallel between such sinning saints and living on the margins in general. And maybe art can help clarify that connection, this group exhibition suggests.
