Brendan Fowler: New Camera & Isabelle Cornaro: This Morbid Roundtrip from Subject to Object
January 11 through February 22, 2014
2640 S. La Cienega, Los Angeles, CA 90034
L.A.-based Brendan Fowler’s new work at LAX, made by sewing together fabrics and embroidering them with an industrial machine before stretching them across rectangular frames, approximate photographs taken of everyday objects. French artist Isabelle Cornaro’s installation includes three 16 mm short films that are casual and lyrical, and mostly feature domestic objects, along with a gray plaster sculpture on a table that’s similarly laid back.
