Bayo & Joram Roukes
April 13 through May 5, 2013
1108 Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice, CA 90291
Born in Mexico City in 1976, artist Eduardo Flores, “Bayo”, depicts somber and melancholic worlds, where the main character is the psyche in an axis of conflicts. Characters tend to avoid frontal sight, turning their eyes towards themselves and exposing their fragility.
Joram Roukes’ stream of conscious style is expressed in collaged narratives of surreal imagery that reflects an acute observation of western society’s excessive lifestyles, materialism and obsession with more.
